Why is it mostly moderates calling for Biden to step aside, whereas the left wing mostly supports him continuing the race?
I consider myself left wing, not moderate, but I want President Biden to step aside.

The Democrats had been very successful acting as a unified front. The easy shift in leadership from Pelosi to Jeffries is a perfect example. The left of the party have played along as well. Now there is a schism. Look at the heated and personal rhetoric below. It's sad. The "coalition" against Trump that got Biden elected is now fractured.
There is no path for Biden to do better. He can't improve his campaigning, and his record does not resonate with voters. How anyone thinks he has a chance to beat Trump at this point is unfathomable. This is when you throw a Hail Mary because a slim chance is better than no chance.
