Why is it mostly moderates calling for Biden to step aside, whereas the left wing mostly supports him continuing the race?

I consider myself left wing, not moderate, but I want President Biden to step aside.

Huh? the left wing is absolutely not going to vote for Biden. Remember Gaza? Biden already lost in some of the battleground states, including Michigan, on this issue alone.
@Northwest It’s nuts because Trump will support Netanyahu unconditionally.

It is nuts.

@Northwest Methinks you overestimate the importance of Gaza. A poll came out a few days ago showing Biden with a five point lead over Trump in Michigan.

And which poll would that be? Because the NYT poll (https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/us/elections/polls-president-michigan.html) has not shown Biden polling above Convicted Felon Trump once since Jan 1, and the July 12 numbers are: Convicted Felon Trump 47%, Biden 45%

@Northwest Bloomberg July 1-5. I’ll grant you Trump still leads in the RCP polling average of Michigan, but said lead is smaller than in most other battleground states, including Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and maybe even Wisconsin.

@Theyitis
Bloomberg July 1-5

Which also shows Convicted Felon Trump, leading Biden by 2 point (47-45).

@Northwest The aggregate polling hasn't changed. It didn't change when Trump was convicted, either. So we can conclude that the people saying they'll vote for them now aren't changing their minds no matter what. The question is who the undecideds pick and where the people who inevitably abandon the third party candidates go.
