Hell No. Trouble is that practically all countries have militaries. All of us protecting ourselves from whoever is after us or we are after. How does it stop? Even if the world all disarmed there are always going to be one against the other. Being pissed at your neighbor and it slowly escalates and on and on. I think humans are incapable of completely becoming nonviolent.

I think we're still too tribal, aggressive and acquisitive a species to stop now. The resources in the world are limited and so we fight over them. Violently too. Maybe when our consciousness raises another level or two will we have the wherewithal to solve this and other war causing predicaments. Oh, and I work for the army and in the past worked in failure analysis and manufacturing of rockets, satellites, and missiles for the defense industry in the past. Made computer chips at another company for these missiles as well.
