Why do democrats 💩 on the constitution? stating it is a living document. When James Maddison shut down that pervsion, along with the other founderS'?

Remember when Obama referred to the Constitution as a "charter of negative liberties"? The left constantly trashes the document saying it's outdated, was written by racists, needs to be overhauled or abolished altogether. Except that the real purpose of the Constitution is to restrict the gov't from infringing upon our rights. So, there can only be one reason why they would want to change it.
