He was the only president who got us out of Afghanistan, something Trump promised to do (something that Obama promised to do for that matter) but was too much of a fucking pussy to do it because he was told it wouldn't be pretty and he cares about his image more than anything; Biden had nothing to lose because he's an old codger who's been in politics forever and won against the biggest dumbass who's ever been in the White House and doesn't care about his image (does anyone give a crap about Biden's image? Lol). Bush couldn't do it, Obama couldn't do it, Trump couldn't do it, Biden sent a temporary middle finger to the military-industrial complex and that was based. Of course now he's given billions to Ukraine so, eh...can't really say he's not helping defense contractors but helping Ukraine is at least more defensible than a country that could never be conquered.
Biden sucks. But getting out of Afghanistan had to happen, it was NEVER going to go smoothly, and we will be better off out of there.

@CorvusBlackthorne Yep. It was going to be a mess either way. I'm not even arguing with the people who think we should've stayed forever. I disagree, but those people are right that that would've prevented a chaotic exit (duh). But any exit was going to be messy. It was not a victory. That is what happens when you fail to "nation-build" effectively.

@CorvusBlackthorne Based on the meme, the alternative seems to have been getting all resources out first, which Biden did not do. But how would removing all the weapons first have helped? You think the Taliban wouldn't have noticed a bunch of weapons and materiel leaving? You think they wouldn't have attacked now less-armed American soldiers? The Taliban took over because the Afghan government essentially had no control outside of the capital and a couple other major cities. 20 years got us a weak, ineffective Afghan government that folded the second we left. The only alternatives would've resulted in prolonging the conflict, which was the goal of those who opposed the withdrawal. There was no third option "smooth withdrawal". It was withdraw and the Taliban takes over or stay indefinitely.

@CorvusBlackthorne You start an evacuation in small numbers slowly moving resources out of the country getting people who help us who live there in that country somewhere safe so when you pull your military out they won't immediately be beheaded After doing this slowly but surely then you pull your people out completely

No. You do not have the privilege of dismissing the problem that swiftly. Had the United States military remained long enough to do as you suggest, they would have been attacked at every opportunity, and casualties would have increased.
