What he should do and what he is actually doing are two different things.
This is a NATO problem and like it or not we are apart of NATO.
Now having said that. NATO isn't getting involved either with troops!
NATO needs to get off it's collective rear ends! Sanctions are not going to work with anyone that isn't already in the sanctions game.
Economically Russia is independent of the world. They are not even a member of the IMF like China is.

@DeWayfarer NATO is the US foreign legion. It takes orders from Washington and exists to implement American control of Europe and antagonize Russia.

@DeWayfarer That actually proves my point. It is not about what the members want, it is about what Washington decides.
And this is not really just my opinion. I basically paraphrased the words of the very first NATO Secretary General on why it exists at all.
This has been it's purpose literally since it's founding.
That is also why we are seeing the fates of Europe being negotiated in Washington, not in European capitals.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow no it doesn't. Because NATO is not sending troops now nor did they do absolutely anything not even sanctions with Crimea.
I will keep on saying this is a NATO problem not a US problem. Because we are only members. They collectively have voted over the US before.

@DeWayfarer As for Crimea that is the direct result of NATO. With the US coup in Kiev in 2014 and attempting to seize the largest Russia base in the area. The same would have happened if Russia backed Hawaiian separatists and tried to seize Pearl Harbour.
