From what I saw in the news, all masks were ON. It substantially reduces the risk of transmission and it does contrast sharply with the other "biased side".

SW-User
@chip43 Theres enough people in the crowd that have them off though. That's dangerous isn't it?

@PSuss1 they are BIDEN supporters,so yeah😸
PSuss1 · 56-60, M
@bookerdana really struggling with the concept that wearing masks has become a partisan political issue in the US ..."personal freedoms" won't be so important when you or a loved one die of Covid wil they?
bookerdana · M
@PSuss1 IF I'm out I'm 😷 like everyone in NY..no fools here

SW-User
should, I suppose, but both sides are so bias that whether it be a ralley or a celebration it's okay cuz' they are in the "right" party

SW-User
@SW-User Let's be fair here. Conservatives for the most part have been against social distancing and masks. This is not a "both sides are guilty" situation.

SW-User
@SW-User well I guess you answered your own question
Well its understandable that people want to celebrate, but its not a good move to be doing that either..
butterflybaby75 · 46-50, F
Why does it matter? Every single one of Trump's rallies was a mass debate with nobody wearing masks.

SW-User
@butterflybaby75 It matters because the rallies you speak of were actually labeled super spreaders.
Harriet03 · 41-45, F
Most have masks,
None are armed.
A refreshing change, don't you think?

Whether they're labelled or not, they are, I'm afraid.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
I'd hope not. I expect people to have the sense to remain as sanitary as possible by wearing masks, gloves, keeping their distance, and so on. But then, I can't expect very much from most people.

SW-User
@BlueMetalChick No social distancing at all. Masks yes, but there are enough people in the crowd that have them down to their chin.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@SW-User That pisses me off so much when you see someone with a mask not covering their nose or they've got it all crunched up underneath their chin.
Elevatorpitches · F
oh please..just for a little while?

SW-User
Nah.. that’s different

So long as masks and distances are kept (and in the videos I saw they were) and above all such gatherings are outdoor, the risk is probably there but not that massive.
People spent all summer on crowded beaches even without masks here in Europe and the curve rose only when such morons started to pack in (indoor) clubs.

@SW-User Those I saw were compliant with the rules; look at bookerdana's reply below, for instance.
Anyway so long as it's outdoor, empirically speaking, the risk is minimal. The biggest problem are crowded transportations and people spending 8h/days in offices with scarce or no air re-circulation at all.

@SW-User Yeah, those should've been avoided, especially the ones with people without masks or masks wore not properly. I hope there haven't been indoor celebrations/events, as I said we've had people not giving a sh*t about it for the entire summer here (I happen to live in a coastal town, so I can guarantee you personally, I've seen gatherings much much worse than these) and somehow the curve didn't spike until people started getting more and more indoors.
Miram · 31-35, F
They are. People are so effing silly to make exceptions.
