So Elon Musk will lead the new Department of Efficiency

Isn't that marvellous😯

Elon Musk and former republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency.

Mr Musk and Mr Ramaswamy "will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies," the US President-elect said in a statement.

Mr Trump said their work would conclude by 4 July 2026, adding that a smaller and more efficient government would be a "gift" to the country on the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The appointments reward two of Mr Trump's biggest supporters from the private sector.

the missing word in all of these conversations (and I agree with you bad idea) but the word is

austerity i think once that word is inserted into the plans the base idea starts to be less clouted.

i think a lot of the blame is for our media outlets not using the one word that captures the Trump parties broad plan moving forward. although to be fair i am not sure most Americans understand austerity as a economic policy or know squat about economics but we saw how austerity played out in other countries recently with Greece being a good place to look
