So Elon Musk will lead the new Department of Efficiency

Isn't that marvellous😯

Elon Musk and former republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy will lead the newly created Department of Government Efficiency.

Mr Musk and Mr Ramaswamy "will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle government bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies," the US President-elect said in a statement.

Mr Trump said their work would conclude by 4 July 2026, adding that a smaller and more efficient government would be a "gift" to the country on the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The appointments reward two of Mr Trump's biggest supporters from the private sector.

This is all part of the plan to erase controls over corporate greed and corruption, plus getting rid of anyone who opposes or has prosecuted Trump.

I do think the U.S. government (actually all governments) is bloated and that has always needed some work, but not with the aim of destroying safeguards.

@Ontheroad what safeguards? 🤔
Ontheroad · M
@wildbill83 safeguards provided by, for example, the EPA and Department of Education, to name just a couple.

@Ontheroad DoE has done nothing but cost money and try to force woke bullshit on education; EPA is too bloated, over regulates small & struggling businesses, but completely ignores major companies (especially ones with government contracts & subsidies)
