@SunshineGirl “He has destroyed over three quarters of the value of his asset by allowing it to become an unsafe and unhealthy forum where illegal activity proliferates under the pretence of “free speech.”
Adeptlinguist blocked me for some reason, so I am responding to you by making a new comment.
I don't think it matters that X is being valued at less when its worth and potential resale appears to be irrelevant to Elon Musk. This is not why he bought X. Musk clearly wanted an established platform with many users, a site he could then make his own and use for what he wanted. His plan seems to be working well. In buying X, Musk received more publicity and he has gained more fans after talking about the prior issues with free speech on the site.
The progressives can go away to their safe spaces if they don't like it. A place where you can challenge other viewpoints is never unsafe and unhealthy. The belief that people should not be able to say what they want is what is unhealthy.

@emiliya the Americans deserve only privatized platforms. The public doesn't act like it deserves a public platform. So you don't have one. Good. The public should not have anything - it voted to be privatized and used. Let's agree they won.
BohemianBabe · M
@Roundandroundwego The reason Trump won is specifically because almost all of media is owned or funded by billionaires. We need more public platforms. It'd also be nice if we didn't have any billionaires.

@emiliya X is a total joke. Like Truth Social. He is a total failure.
And it is rich you whine about safe spaces since X and Truth Social are basically safe spaces for the far right.

@emiliya Giving a platform to the far right is definitely not healthy. Lets not pretend all random mental vomit are valid ideas.
BizSuitStacy · M
@emiliya Some people are afflicted with selective memory disorder. When Elon initially wanted to purchase X (Twitter) the company's value was based, in large part, on the number of accounts it had. Then Elon discovered that 80% of the accounts were bots. An inconvenient fact people forget. At that point, Elon wanted to back out of the deal, but was sued. So, he bit the bullet and paid the $44 billion.
This ☝ is complete bs from a mindless socialist troll. Elon destroyed nothing...though he did eliminate 80% of the staff, and took the company private. Valuations made at this time are estimates.

@Bel6EQUJ5 they overvalued it lying about the number of subscribers that were real people and verified. When he tried to renegotiate because they did lie in their quarterly and annual filings on subscriber base they then sued him making him keep to the agreement of buying the company. He will turn x around eventually and he will make a huge Fortune off of it once he gets rid of all of the baggage and government influence over free speech.

@BohemianBabe obviously you don't realize that roughly 180 billionaires only 50 of them support Trump the other 130 billionaires supported, Kamala Harris.
BohemianBabe · M
dale74 · M
@BohemianBabe unfortunately your chart is not very accurate considering the fact that Kamala Harris had 1.37 billion and Trump ran on only 347 million Trump's campaign was also majority financed by him which would be a billionaire contributing to his campaign so yes the majority of his campaign funds did come from a billionaire which was his own pocket. But the last thing you need to be doing is signing statistics on financing the election when Kamal Harris had 1.37 billion compared to Trump's 380 million and by the way Trump didn't spend all of his money.
BohemianBabe · M
@dale74 Harris raised more money, but most of her donations came from working-class people. Most of Trump's donations were from billionaires. Right-wing media is also hugely funded by billionaires, many of them not even from America. Russia funds right-wing media in America too.
dale74 · M
@BohemianBabe actually you're wrong most of her donations came from large political donors billionaires probably that was cycled through when you have people that are on social security who make $60,000 worth of donations to different Democrats every other day the money is not actually coming from them it's another way that they're cheating but you obviously don't care about that.
emiliya · 22-25, F
@BohemianBabe Bill Gates donated $50 million to the Democrat campaign. Is he working class?
BohemianBabe · M
@emiliya Bill Gates is one person. I said MOST of Harris' donors were working-class.
dale74 · M
@BohemianBabe well yeah most would have to be considering the working class make up about 90% of the country and Trump didn't ask for numerous donations from people he didn't go out and beg for your money.
BohemianBabe · M
@dale74
I like how you said "probably" because you know there's no evidence of this. The vast majority of billionaires sided with the Republicans, as capital always does.
I want the government to overturn Citizens United so that billionaires can't buy any election. But you won't support that, because you know that billionaires are propping up Trump.

@BohemianBabe Democrats don't care they found a way around it they have 1 billionaire donate millions then I send it out to Democrats that need the financing through small donations of people that never actually consented to donating. But like I said you don't care about that you don't care when your side cheats you don't care when you're sad drops in millions of unsigned ballots and want some counted you don't care all you care about is winning no matter how you have to cheat. Think about it like this they're wondering what happened to that other 18 million votes that Biden got that, didn't well if you look back over the history, I got the same amount of votes as Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton so let's ask the question where did those other 18 million votes come from in that last election for a candidate who never went out and campaigned. But like we've already determined you don't really care.
BohemianBabe · M
@dale74 See? You completely deflected because you know I'm correct.
I think Citizens United should be overturned. That would get money out of politics, so billionaires wouldn't have as much outsized influence.
You would never support such a thing, because you know that billionaires mainly support and fund the Republicans.

dale74 · M
@BohemianBabe every single time I've asked you a question you never answer it so you're the last one that needs to be talking about deflection as well I've asked you if you care whether Democrats cheat or not you've never answered that and you won't cuz you do you want them to cheat it doesn't matter to you.
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@emiliya What is this? 1993? Bill Gates has been irrelevant for decades.
BohemianBabe · M
@dale74
Because we both know you're lying about that. Democrats didn't cheat in the 2020 election.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow A billionaire like Bill Gates is never irrelevant.
@BohemianBabe According to Forbes, Harris had 83 billionaire donors, more than Trump. The majority of Americans earning less than $50,000 a year voted Trump. The majority of Americans earning more than $100,000 a year voted Harris. Trump had significantly less campaign funds. He was the underdog who they made into a felon and told everyone not to vote for, yet they did. You can't blame media, as they hated Trump. Now they will have to learn to like Trump.

@emiliya So what? The first Trump administration set a new record for the most billionaires and CEOs in his cabinet. And it looks like he wants to beat that record.
You do realize that Trump had literally the richest man on earth behind his campaign and is putting him in charge of a new agency?
Trump is not some working class hero.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Working class Americans find Trump more appealing than Harris and the Democrats. Trump speaks to them more than Harris and the Democrats, who have significant funding from liberal billionaires with Woke agendas.
Trump said he wants successful people working for him. What is the problem?
