"Advertisers, go f*** yourself and don't advertise!" says Elon Musk. They duly oblige

In the next sentence, he predicts that these advertisers (having "gone f***ed themselves) will kill the company. This is the one prediction that Lord Tech-bro has got right since he bought the damn thing.

"The Earth will judge them," says Elon.

"Meh," says the Earth.

Here lies Twitter, 'X' marks the spot.

If the original owners/founders really cared about the company they wouldn't have sold. Leon proved even the super rich could still be bought
@MarineBob At the time, Twitter was a publicly traded company, and Elon was buying up stock publicly. At the time, Elon was saying that if he couldn't buy Twitter, it was proof the markets were rigged.

At the point where a person owns the majority of a company, they have the power to appoint the whole board of directors and make the board do whatever they ask. When Twitter's board sold to Elon they were just doing what boards of bought up companies always do and bowing to the inevitable instead of dragging the process out.
