"Advertisers, go f*** yourself and don't advertise!" says Elon Musk. They duly oblige

In the next sentence, he predicts that these advertisers (having "gone f***ed themselves) will kill the company. This is the one prediction that Lord Tech-bro has got right since he bought the damn thing.

"The Earth will judge them," says Elon.

"Meh," says the Earth.

Here lies Twitter, 'X' marks the spot.

The whole platform is going down the drain. And rightfully so 👍🏼

@helenS I think having a big public square platform is a necessity. Twitter served a purpose. However, X does not.

@helenS @Burnley123 X is swirling the toilet right now. The only reason I'm there is for the gorgeous women posting

@Burnley123 My problem with platforms such as Twitter of Facebook is that their only purpose is to generate revenue. The"Guardian" or the NYT must make some money too, or they will perish, but I think that's not their raison d'être.

@Burnley123 @JohnnyNoir

OnlyFans! Lmao.

But seriously, the people need to build their own open source public square.

Maybe one day. I dunno...

People need to get wise to the fact that the system is breaking and that it is not meant for you - it's meant to exploit you!

@helenS I personally subscribe to two newspapers (almost 3 because of Black Friday but I restrained myself).

It’s amazing how many people think news should be free.

Twitter made RSS free and easy for everyone. I think RSS and the aggregators should make a comeback.
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@JovialMoose Yeah, news should be free for the most part.

That being said, an individual should support those news outlets they trust finacially, but in terms of the overall corporate backed mainstream news media, why pay to be propagandized to?

The American people are some of the most propagandized in the world.

It's like telling a fish they live in water.
JovialMoose · 46-50, M
@GeistInTheMachine ok. Give me some examples of non-propagandized news…
justanothername · 51-55, M
@helenS That how tech works. Put out an invention that enables people to do something then monetize it.
ididntknow · 51-55, M
@Burnley123 Twitter wasn’t a public square, it was a government body
GeistInTheMachine · 31-35, M
@JovialMoose Diversified news from various sources that you dissect yourself, for yourself. So you can account for biases and make up your own mind instead if being spoonfed cable news BS.
JovialMoose · 46-50, M
@GeistInTheMachine Back in the day... yes. I used it and loved it.

Then, like facebook... they started messing with the algorithms and the feeds were no longer "my feeds." It was what was fed to me. So I quit.

Go ahead... use what aggregator you like. I trust the NYTimes and subscribe to it (give it money). Do you subscribe to anything or do you just take what is fed to you?
