Can someone explain the reverence conservatives have for Elon Musk?

They claim to hate "big tech," but Musk invented PayPal.

They hate electric vehicles, but Musk made his fortune selling them.

The guy makes a few comments that suggest he doesn't believe in content moderation, so when he says he's buying Twitter, conservatives go gaga.

I sincerely hope Musk buys Twitter, runs it into the ground, and loses his fortune trying unsuccessfully to keep it afloat. That would be hilarious.

You've made a general statement, you hypocrite.
@Spoiledbrat OK, fine.

Some conservatives hate big tech.

Some conservatives hate EVs.

The Venn Diagram where the above overlap with "conservatives who love Elon Musk" isn't a circle, but close to it. I haven't run into too many liberals who hate big tech, hate EVs, but love Musk.
@Spoiledbrat Also, a hypocrite is someone who says one thing and does another. I don't hate big tech, so I'm not a hypocrite if I use it. I don't hate EVs, so I can drive one if I want. I do hate Twitter, and if Musk buys it, I'm not going to start liking it suddenly.

@LeopoldBloom Liberals tend to be invested in all three.
@justanothername I haven't run across too many liberals who worship Musk, although I'm sure some do.
