Trump admin cancels multiple citizenship ceremonies in New York

From what I understand Trump’s “logic” is if he cancels new citizenship ceremonies it will give more time to swear in immigrants stuck in limbo. I figure Trump has no intention of finding those immigrants stuck in limbo – especially if they are black or brown. Cheers and happy weekend!

@Bumbles I thought you had three separate pillars of the state in the US: Congress, the judiciary, the executive. Aren't they supposed to be independent of each other?

@ninalanyon Yes, good question. Immigration is under the Executive so, speculating here, they have some sub regulation that allows a pause on finalizing the ceremony if the judiciary is determined to be “unfit” to do the final ceremony. Probably some kind of “fail safe” regulation intended to help immigrants now being used to hurt them. Typical of Trump administration.
