Well, well, well. This was only a matter of time.

There's a MAGAT amongst us who has expressed the opinion that the police department should be allowed to use chemical weapons that have been banned by the Geneva Convention against protesters.

I wonder, how many others are willing to admit that they think people exercising their first amendment rights should have illegal chemical weapons sprayed in their faces?

Does an illegal alien that by definition is not from this country have any constitutional rights? The constitution was for legal immigrants right? Or do they apply once they’re citizens? Does it even state this in the constitution?

Any violent protest is directly against the government so this could be considered something like the incident on Jan 6?

@specman Get a refresher course on the Constitution.
specman · 51-55, MVIP
@Northwest does it state that an illegal alien have rights?
They broke federal law they have no rights. As far as due process they can remain in the last country they crossed or their origination for their court date
trollslayer · 46-50, M
@specman yes.
Northwest · M
@specman Individuals within the country, including undocumented immigrants are afforded full constitutional protections. Affirmed by SCOTUS.
specman · 51-55, MVIP
@Northwest no they are only afforded some not all.
Northwest · M
@specman Key constitutional protections apply to all individuals within the U.S., including those without legal status. These include the right to due process, freedom of religion and speech, and protection from unreasonable searches and seizures.
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@specman I'm sorry, are you actually arguing that these human beings don't have rights?

@specman Did you hear that your lord and master DJT changed his mind, and he now wants the hard working, undocumented, farm workers and hospitality workers to remain the US?
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@specman Undocumented immigrants get due process under the law just like everyone else. If there's a justifiable reason why they are here, why would you deport them without due process?
specman · 51-55, MVIP
@LordShadowfire because their here illegally.
specman · 51-55, MVIP
@LordShadowfire legal immigration I’m for.

@specman It sounds like somebody hasn't been paying attention to the subtle nuances of this conversation, and wants everything to be black and white. Somebody could be here without having documentation (which, by the way, is only a misdemeanor under federal law, and you can look that up) and have a reason that's good enough that it still doesn't warrant that person being deported. For instance, if they have angered or upset a vicious gang of killers who are known for executing people in horrible ways and putting the videos of said executions on the internet. Or if that person is going to be imprisoned and tortured for being gay.

These are all mitigating circumstances that would change the nature of their immigration status to that of a refugee, or at least they would have under previous administrations. The Trump administration doesn't want to look at human rights violations as a reason for people to seek refuge in the US.

@specman Habeas Corpus is guaranteed in the United States Constitution to anyone in the US regardless of immigration status.

There's also that pesky little thing called international human rights.

So:

If you're against the Constitution (the supreme law of the country), stop calling yourselves "constitutional conservatives".

If you want to violate international human rights laws, be prepared to be a pariah state.
specman · 51-55, MVIP
@basilfawlty89 yes you are correct
specman · 51-55, MVIP
@basilfawlty89 are you anywhere near the government is being racist against white farmers? That is if you still live in Africa
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@specman lolno.

There's no white genocide.
The victim rate for violent per capita is the lowest for white people.
Their is no suppression of Afrikaans culture.
Actual refugees don't "escape" 5 bedroom houses.

Nice try at deflection though!
Northwest · M
@basilfawlty89 Just stated watching the 2024 crime series, starring Natalie Dormer (White Lies), which is set in Cape Town.
specman · 51-55, MVIP
@basilfawlty89 no deflection just curiosity. I already admitted you were correct.
specman · 51-55, MVIP
@Northwest you stated you are?
basilfawlty89 · 36-40, M
@Northwest ah,I haven't watched that yet. I should, considering I kinda crushed on Natalie Dormer when I watched Game of Thrones during COVID.
Northwest · M
@basilfawlty89 I thought she did a great job in The Tudors.
