I Think Donald John Trump, Is A Moron

So, Donald Trump’s Health Care Bill is dead in the water. And who does the moron blame? The Democrats, because they wouldn’t support it.

Wrong you idiot. None of the medical associations supported it and, this is the clincher Mr Trump so pay attention, neither did the Republicans. That’s why Paul Ryan pulled it from the election process.

The Democrats did exactly what the Republicans did to Obama. They did what the divisive partisan system encourages them to do. Block whatever the other side is trying to put into place.

Seven years. That’s how long the Republicans have been bleating on about “Obama Care”. Seven years and the Republicans couldn’t come up with a viable alternative.

That’s two things that Trump has tried to put into place that have failed miserably. The first was his immigration ban which was trounced by the courts. The second is his Health Care Bill which never even made it into Congress.

It’s a shame that the American love for the “three strikes and you’re out” ideology only covers baseball and the American penal system. Just imagine if it extended to the Presidency.

Strike three – Trump’s budget! Watch this space.

I am afraid akindheart has a point. Presidents of the United States - the Executive Branch - do not write or submit legislation; the fault lies with the Republicans in Congress - the Legislative Branch - who were forced to withdraw their badly crafted Bill by President Trump when he saw it had no chance.

To update...the "moron" billionaire (rather a self-contradiction in terms, no?) Trump has in his first 5 months in office got Obamacare repealed, a Conservative majority on the Supreme Court - the third, Judicial Branch - the reversal of Obama-era restrictions on energy production and God Willing will announce when he visits Israel the relocation of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem where it and the others belong.

Really though, a man like yourself, who can appreciate fine poetry and good books, should really know better than to call people "morons" and "idiots" simply because they -inoffensively - disagree with you, true? I feel confident you don't need to do it.

@Abrienda: context is a valuable tool don't you think?

I was dismissive of akindheart because we had been engaged in a rather futile discussion about the UK and its geographical composition. It seems that, she too didn't understand satire and the whole thing escalated (should I say degenerated) to the realms of absurdity.

But on to the body of your reply.

I did not say that Trump drafted the Bill, but it was his Bill. He supported it and promoted it as being a "great" Bill. And, as far as I'm aware, it was Paul Ryan who pulled the Bill before it went to Congress. Trump tried, and failed, to bully it through. Also, if you note, I blame the Republicans for its failure. And their collective failure in doing something that they've been bleating on about for six years.

I disagree that billionaires and morons are mutually exclusive. Particularly in the case of Trump. He inherited the bulk of his wealth. His business track record is riddled with failures which have resulted in bankruptcy and litigation, or both. Compare that with someone like Richard Branson, for example, who has also had failures but is a) a self-made billionaire and b) never allowed a single one of his ventures to go into bankruptcy. One could argue that Trumps primary financial success has come from franchising his brand name and, a reality TV show where he appears for little more than ten minutes per episode.

Of course he's going to engineer a conservative majority in the branches that you've mentioned. But is that such a good thing? And are you seriously suggesting that the unrestricted production and use of fossil fuels is a good thing? I find that rather baffling.

Finally, I don't understand why it's so important for the U.S. Embassy, in Israel, to be in Jerusalem. Sure, it's the capital but, the centre of Israels economic and technological activities is Tel Aviv. I've been to Israel many, many times and, to me, this is a non-issue.

Well, I happen to live in Israel and it is very much an issue, thank you, in regards to Israel's permanent possession of East Jerusalem where I happen to live with my godparents though I am a good Catholic girl. The relocation of the Embassy there would have a profound effect on this and would influence other nations to do so as well.

We must agree to disagree on President Trump. If you wish to believe certain news outlets then t was 'his" bill but was one he had no hand in writing. However...the second attempt was successful. As for a more Conservative US Supreme Court, you do acknowledge people of goodwill can see that as good thing I hope?

@Abrienda: I can see the political weight that relocating embassies would have and perhaps my use of the word "non-issue" was more than a little ill advised.

It's not about him writing the bill. In fact, "certain" news outlets ribbed him about not even reading the damned thing. The point is, he promoted it and in so doing took ownership. Before (or without) even reading it. Go on YouTube and you can see him doing that.

I think you're going to have to explain to me what "people of goodwill" means.
Abrienda · 26-30, F
That won't be possible if you think that anyone who disagrees with you is a)stupid, and/or b)evil. If you don't, then those who can disagree with you on the same terms who wish you would come around to their way of thinking but will not insult or kill you if you do not are people of good will.

And thank you for the suggestion but I never form my opinions about important people or issues based on youtube videos.

@Abrienda: do I really come across as someone who thinks that those who disagree with me are either stupid or evil???

I do object to people wishing that I "would come round to their way of thinking". My position is, give me your arguments, give me your reasoning, if required, give me your evidence. Then allow me to examine it all and make up my own mind. If we disagree, to me, that's part of the rich fabric of life. If we agree, let's tackle a new topic. I'm positively voracious when it comes to learning new things and new perspectives.

@room101: As the Orson Welles character in "Black Magic" said "Appearences are notoriously deceiving..." but to me, yes, I am afraid you do. As for "coming around" if I believe I have the correct perspective on something I feel obligated to save you from yourself by friendly persuasion and example. It is the least I can do!
room101 · 51-55, M
@Abrienda: well, maybe I'm very multi-faceted 😂

I'm open to your attempts to save me..............so long as you are equally open lol.
