‘ Wannabe emperor' Trump compares himself to Genghis Khan, Napoleon, Caesar

[media=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SBuqGTtOjnk]

The Atlantic reports that Trump allies say he's "begun thinking about himself less as a peer of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln," and more as an addition to the trifecta of "great men," Alexander the Great, Julius Cesar and Napoleon Bonaparte. MS NOW's Ayman Mohyeldin reports and is joined by The Atlantic's Ashley Parker.

My comment:

Well, one things for sure—Demented Donnie is NO JFK!

Alexander's empire collapsed on his death, Julius marked the end of the Republic, Napoleon coopted the French Revolution.

None of them are exactly worthy of emulation. Or perhaps only someone similarly unworthy would think they were.
@ninalanyon Are you implying that the United States "Empire" couldnt use a makeover??😷

@whowasthatmaskedman I'm hoping that we are still in the time of the Republic. And that no more parallels between Rome and the US can be drawn. Luckily there is no equivalent to Pompey the Great in the US, or is there? It took multiple civil wars to destroy the Republic.

The US could definitely do with a makeover but all the things that need to be done look impossible.
@ninalanyon For the first part of your response, my answer is that technology has speeded up response times and cycles out of all recognition.
For the last part, I have to agree...😷

@whowasthatmaskedman I'm afraid that's not very encouraging.
@ninalanyon OK. I Understand.. Maybe this instead.😷
