What do you think is going on here then? Is he going after another crown to wear?

He's talking good sense. The UK cant heat old people's homes and yet they don't drill. O sense at all.

@Munumbis Yes, but where does one get an oil company ready to spend money to drill where he says that it should be done? The costs outweigh the benefits
Munumbis · 46-50, M
@val70 Might be time the UK government did something worth while and funded some exploration.
val70 · 56-60
@Munumbis You mean that they would finance this expensive adventure when reopening the coalmines would be less costly?
Munumbis · 46-50, M
@val70 you can't easily get gasoline from coal.
val70 · 56-60
@Munumbis We're talking about providing fuel for electricity. That's the real need for the future
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@val70 seems like a no brainer

@Munumbis There has been plenty of exploration for over 50 years. The location of reserves is well known. Only two unexplored fields currently even make vague economic sense. The rest are economically unviable without vast taxpayer subsidy . . which is essentially what Trump is hankering for. The UK government has chosen an energy policy that subsidises wind (which will never run out and is less vulnerable to international price fluctuations) rather than fossil fuels.

@Munumbis What do you mean the UK can't heat old people's homes?? Of course they can!

@Munumbis Lots of people with limited incomes struggle to afford to heat their homes. I'm not sure why you focus on the elderly who include the richest demographic in the UK and are most likely to own their homes (and therefore do not face the same housing costs as the rest of us). Energy costs are currently high because the Trump War has severely constricted supply.
Waveney · 41-45, M
@Munumbis Wrong on all counts.
Munumbis · 46-50, M
@Waveney Right they won't drill because they're carbon cucks.
Waveney · 41-45, M
@Munumbis no need to drill. Any oil from new wells won’t be ready for extraction for at least 5 years. Prices need to come down now. And they are, because renewables are making up greater and greater proportions of our energy mix 🙂
