"I knew that I could never again raise my voice against the violence of the oppressed in the ghettos without having first spoken clearly to the greatest purveyor of violence in the world today—my own government."

How old were you when you realized the US is the biggest cartel/terroristic organization of all?
My father was always ranting about the government. How could I not know, at a very young age? That was the Vietnam era after all. Due to political sabotage and international copyright laws, I can't show the original video with Charlie O'Donnell speaking with actual scenes. Some scenes of MLK and the Vietnam war protests in the US of A.
That video was actually written, shot, as well as produced here in the USA! Not a "foreign" country. Hence it's political sabotage!
This will unfortunately have to do...

@DeWayfarer This was powerful for me as a teenager. British schools always started the day with a pseudo-religious assembly back then (a hymn, a prayer and a bollocking from the Headmaster for misdemeanors real and imagined) and sometimes we sixth formers were encourages in our 'leadership skills' to run it. When my group got a chance we just played this and asked the school to be quiet as they listened. It was well received by all, except the Head who made some snide remarks to us later. However, he liked to play the part of the liberal, so we had other opportunities. 😏
Thanks for prompting the memory.

It’s disgusting that our president is so senile he doesn’t remember giving the order to attack. It is very dangerous situation

I figured it out in 6th grade and remember a more idealistic time. But we have been terrorists since we murdered the natives. From day one. They've just found different ways to distract and trick us over the generations.

@boudinMan Yeah, that's why he's so incredibly consistent in his weasling out of the conversation... but hey, an authoritarian can't show weakness and they can't appologies. That's just how it works.
Maybe the option was, not being ignorant and hatefull in 2018, when Trump stopped talking to Iran and gave them no other option then to start working on the mutual insured destruction option. It was your president that unilateraly withdrew from the JCPOA, pretty much creating the problem that now needs solving with more ignorance and hate. Because this entire operation has no clear goals, it has no off-ramp plans, it has no long term vision. And I honestly think this is going to cost the west more then what Iran is going to loose.

The military just hasn't released any official confirmation because investigations are ongoing. I'm just an armchair observer but we don't want to be too gullible. The Iranian regime could have an seen an opportunity to concoct a story knowing that the base which was bombed is next to a school, so they held a mass funeral. I hope I'm right and nobody died.
foldedunfolding · 41-45, F
@StygianKohlrabi I'm confused..you aren't aware that like 180 kids died in the school?
StygianKohlrabi · 46-50, M
@foldedunfolding I am aware that the base that was bombed and it was next door to a school and the school was probably hit but I am unaware that we have any accurate death tally. numbers reported by hostile totalitarian regimes are suspect. at least I'm hoping the number is much lower than that.
