Does Australia really deserve such ostentatiously ugly blots on their skylines?

Perhaps they are thinking of the tax revenues on its operation.

That close to the sea, though? Or is the illustration deliberately foreshortened? I don't know what that coast is like for storms, though of course it won't be affected by rising sea-level within its lifetime (likely only several decades) 'cos the President won't allow the sea to rise anywhere near his properties.

The article shows the developers are confident it will be built, so presumably they are among the shareholders, but surely they can't be 100% certain.

@ArishMell The Gold Coast is a blend of Las Vegas and Florida. Its where all the theme parks are and has a reputation for the tacky and the touristy. Its where all the kids congregate for Spring break. If Trump ever did want to build in Australia. This would be the place.. Having said that, our financial reporting controls would make him find a patsy and sell them the rights to his name, then walk away with the cash. We have our own dropkick by the name of Clive Palmer who might be up for it. Loud, skirts the law and once had political ambitions, but people saw through him..At one stage, he was going to build a replica of the Titanic. But that never happened either..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman Walk away with the cash ..... having abrogated all responsibility.

I have never visited Australia but did have the impression it manages to have a thriving tourist industry and cultural life while avoiding the worst excesses.

@ArishMell We have our moments. Like the Irwins Australia Zoo and a few others.. And city folk tend to be like city folk in most Countries. But generally speaking its built into us to be easy going and fair to all..And those who arent are not favoured. I assume you know of the "Tall Poppy Syndrome". We cut them down.. Its alright to be rich or smart. Just dont make a fuss about it..😷

@whowasthatmaskedman No, I'd not heard of the Tall Poppy Syndrome, but I see your point!
