Easier for him to rack up another "peace settlement" for that elusive Nobel Prize when it is your own war you are ending.
On a more serious note, U.S. military adventures and incursions into Latin American countries' affairs unfortunately never seems to lead to being held accountable. Certainly the arrest/deposing of Noriega in Panama and the "liberation" of Grenada did not in most recent history. Even despite the major fiasco at the Bay of Pigs, our actions during the Cuban Missile Crisis led to the Soviet Union backing off and no one holding us accountable. And that's just in my life-time.

@dancingtongue The Cuban missile crisis is oft quoted. But not well understood..The move by Moscow was in fact a response to US missiles being put in place in Turkey, only a few minutes flight time from Russia. Russia wanted to place an equal threat on America, which had the luxury of being half a world away from any close threat..😷
