Is Trump pushing America to being a pariah nation for ignoring international law?
Since 1945 the global community has focused on a rendition of international law to protect us from another Hitler-type person threatening the peace of the world. We have had confrontations with people like Ho Chi Minh, Josef Stalin, Nikita Khrushchev, Fidel Castro, and Pinochet, Galtieri and so on, who have challenged this safety network expressed through the United Nations.
Trump’s new expression of the old Monroe Doctrine (designed to seize Venezuelan oil maybe) and other ideas that he says have some form of resonance in American geopolitics, and the big brother in the North, risks becoming a new Vietnam War, and Venezuela has some jungle terrain to fight in, to detract from his lame duck status in the United States.
Is it protectionism or a threat of confrontation with economically giant China 🇨🇳?
