I actually took those comments as an admission of guilt.

"I want to try and get to heaven, if possible. I'm hearing I'm not doing well. I am really at the bottom of the totem pole."

I suspect he's feeling something akin to guilt (at least fear of revealing of crimes) regarding his Epstein escapades.

And yes, his dementia is advancing. Live on Fox & Friends last week he couldn't recall the name of the Pacific Ocean!
