Trump and tariffs. A global perspective.

Remember how the "White man" bought Manhattan from the locals for beads and blankets etc? How about when thier decendents swept across the American West like smallpox (a favourite weapon) and cleared out the original settlers all the way to the Pacific? Well those things arent so popular in the US for the most part. Meanwhile, back in Vietnam, the American elected President has been playing the robber baron again foir get a free gold resort, in exchange for reduced tariff rates. At the expence of a few villages being pluoghed under and the inhabitants displaced..Of course, not a single white man was harmed in this and Trump is richer on the back of damaging American standing internationally.. But who cares really?

I think they offer these people the equivalent to what Exxon gives people to get their land. They get what is important to them. It isn’t as this guy is making it out to be I bet. He is pushing specific things and blowing them out of proportion.
What proof is there besides him and his take on things? Sounds too far fetched for Vietnam to land grab , but honestly it’s not Trumps fault for the way Vietnam does things.

However if Trump did use tariffs for his own gain then that in itself is wrong.
What did trump himself say about the tariff?
@specman if you want to have fun just read how much money the president has made since he’s elected.
Trump Inc, 58 pages of his art of deal, David Kirkpatrick discussing Trump's financial dealings during his presidency.
I ain’t hating him for using every single trick in the book and even some that been thought of until now to run some serious successful game on the people of the world.
From day one, remember how he said the system was rigged against the people of America.
I ain’t mad with him all. But I’m disappointed and I’m also disgusted with the 546 plus 1 who letting get away with it on a daily basis.

@specman All valid points. Stripping the thing down to its facts, we have the super fast approval and processing of the resort. That can be checked. And we have the amount of compensation offered. While That can be checked, it may be in line with common practice in the region to shaft the locals. So we cant hold that against Trump.. Finally we have the announcement by the vietmanese minster, who linked the resort in "facilitating" the tariff negotiation. Now thats not a good look..😷

You can move to cuba. Everyone is under communism and equally poor

@Patriot96 Good point. At lease only 89% will be equally poor and the other 11% will be so wealthy they can buy whatever they want to include legislation, legal rulings, etc. How could that be bad? Patriot understands that they should sacrifice so wealthy people can prosper. Why don't everyone understand that?
