How does pardoning criminals fit in with Trump’s belief that he is on a mission from God?

Trump resonantly said that he is on a mission from God - but judging by the number of criminals he pandered I’m having a hard time believing it.
A lot of the people Trump pardoned committed white collar crimes by stealing millions and millions of dollars from American business and the American people. So maybe Trump’s mission from God involves Trickle Down Economics – he pardons white collar criminals that stole from businesses and those criminals stimulate the American economy by buying themselves fancy boats and cars.
