At the moment, a civil war seems more likely than a global one. I mean, if a foreign nation really had an issue with the US, their best bet would be to try to stir the pot at home. Trump doesn't have a lot of friends internationally
For the most part, conservatives and liberals already vehemently hate each other, and Trump is making zero effort to bridge the divide. So there's really no shortage of people that would be happy to see him out of power.

@TinyViolins So the civil war would not last very long. 80% of the country that is on Trump's side are armed to the teeth. the 20% that oppose him can't figure out which bathroom to use.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 Doesn't need to. A nation divided against itself cannot stand
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@TinyViolins The US is much more united than Canada or Britain or France or Germany or Ukraine or.....
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 Not even close. Trump only beat Harris by 1.5% of the vote. To put that into context, that's like having a 200-lb fighter go up against a 203-lb fighter and saying that one has a clear physical advantage. More eligible voters chose to stay home than vote for either of them.
All those other countries had landslide election victories for their leader. France literally had their political parties unite to keep LePen out of power.

@hippyjoe1955 Last I checked, all polls had him underwater in his approval ratings. I think you're looking at the statistic that says 4 in 5 people think Trump is changing this country. That doesn't mean that they think that he's changing it for the better
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@TinyViolins Maybe you should have watched CNN yesterday. You seem to be very out of date. Typical liberal that way. So nice of you to boo cancer victims.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 I wasn't there, I didn't boo anybody.
But I looked it up, and apparently the 80% figure is a reference to a survey of people who actually watched live coverage of Trump's speech, the majority of whom identified as Republican according to polling.
This is a classic example of sampling error. You're basically polling conservative's opinion on Trump and saying they speak for all of America. It's a disingenuous figure. I'd recommend looking at his actual approval ratings amongst all Americans

@hippyjoe1955 I don't have a side. I put country above party. I listened to half the speech on the radio and realized that everyone in that room is a disgrace to America
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@specman I always thought it was people who voted, not dirt and grass

@TinyViolins Well it is a well known fact that large cities beget insanity.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 You might have a point. Donald Trump was born and raised in New York City
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@TinyViolins Yep. And so were you. I was raised on a farm. I know the smell of BS and you keep spewing it.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 I'm from Texas, actually. But if you're smelling BS, it's coming from your end. Smells don't travel across the internet
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@TinyViolins Texas has some large cities and that is where you were born and grew up. You can't even be honest about where you were born.
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 Guilty as charged. I'm from Houston. Home to the Johnson Space Center, the globally recognized Texas Medical Center, and is known as the Energy Capital of the World for the numerous jobs and companies related to oil and gas. Also has the 4th largest GDP in the nation.
Out of curiosity, how many successful industries are there on the farm you grew up on?

@TinyViolins So you run the Johnson Space Centre and Exon and the Hospital?
TinyViolins · 31-35, M
@hippyjoe1955 Only during my free time. I'm usually quite busy spending hours each day online forcing debates on people who have no interest in talking to me

@hippyjoe1955 Going back to your first reply, I love how conservatives assume that no leftists own guns. Plenty of them do and you also assume that trans people don't know how to use one either.
Also, there's massive cases of Trump supporters getting fired from their jobs because some were federal and some were farmers. Some had their spouses deported and one got picked up by ice cos they thought he was illegal when he was a US born citizen.
Trump is ruining his own base so don't assume that leftists are passive and that Trump has massive support on his side. Time goes on and with that support ups or fades one of the two
