Trump is pissed at Zelenskyy because he told the American people that he was the president who could bring peace between Ukraine and Russia. Zelenskyy isn't playing ball and is holding out because he knows Trump will hand Putin all "the cards". Trump doesn't care about Ukraine, he cares about his image because he's a narcissist and this is ALL about Trump's ego. That image he has of himself is as a genius negotiator who can make deals nobody else can make. It's reputational. Trump wants to say to the world, "See, I'm the only president who could do this. Nobody else could bring peace between these two nations except me." Zelenskyy is a barrier to that because he refused to cave in. Trump hates Zelenskyy, not because he won't surrender and bring an end to the war, but because he's not giving Trump what he wants in order to make Trump look good. It's a personal issue, not a political one. Trump is acting like all narcissists act when they don't get their own way and people don't give them what they want. He doesn't want peace for Ukraine and Russia. Trump wants peace for Trump.
