Trump calls Zelensky a dictator

Zelensky cancelled elections and basically declared himself president for life for all intents and purposes.

Putin on the other hand is a respected politician with an approval rating of 87%. Zelensky has dropped from 77% to 57%. Also there are polls that suggest if he were to hold elections today he would only get 16 percent support. I think that's what Trump was getting at though I'm not certain why he claimed four percent. Perhaps he was just ridiculing him.

If you conduct a poll in Russia, asking the question, "Do you support Putin?", who in their right mind is going to say "No" if they value their life and don't want to wind up in prison or dead?

@Pambie Because first of all the Minsk (2)were ceasefire agreements and if he had stuck to them there'd be no war to speak of today, much of the territory now under Russia would still be in Ukrainian control, Luhansk and Donetsk would have special status under the Ukrainian (not Russia) constitution. There. Now you know what is meant by Minsk agreements and you can stop pretending you knew what they were about.

@ImNotHungry Tell me more. I want details. Why should anyone have ever agreed to the "special status" of Luhansk and Donetsk at all in the first place? They're both Ukrainian, belong to Ukraine. Why give up territory? That, to me, is a bad deal. It's like Czechoslovakia giving up the Sudetenland.

@Pambie It appears you want me to do your homework for you. In order for you to ask such a question you'd have to be ignorant to which party demanded independence. I'd respect you more if you simply asked what the Minsk agreements were because you know of them but don't know the details.

What Trump and Putin are now doing in Riyadh is exactly the same; deciding the fate of a country that isn't even being represented at the table. It's disgraceful and shameful, and won't lead to any lasting peace, but no doubt Trump will wave the agreement in his hand at the airport and proclaim "Peace in our time".
