Is America really respected around the world once again?

I do remember Joe Biden building back NATO to help defend Ukraine after Russia’s incredulous attack. Europe loves Joe. It is sad that the rich own the Media such as the downfall of the Washington Post. They have quit sharing protests around the world against the current administration.

Hardly. Most of the people I’ve spoken to from other countries think the United States has disgraced itself by re-electing a narcissist and convicted criminal as president.
And I can’t disagree with them. 🥺

Trump was a joke in 2016. We regained some credibility in 2020 by rejecting him. But in 2025, we’re the joke and laughingstock of the "free" world. 😞

America has long been respected by countries geographically around the world, yes, but universally, no.

She has many enemies for various reasons. Although those are mostly based on their own dogma being inimical to "Western" dogma, some do reflect reactions to American actions overseas.

However, she also does have friends, though they might wonder what on Earth she is doing to herself and others at times.

"Once again"? Since...? The USA has only just given the White House key to a new President whose first action appears to be to issue as many Presidential orders he possibly can, as loudly as he can, before he needs think about parliamentary approval or any consequences he might not expect or want .

So really, it is too early to consider that question seriously. Knee-jerkery won't cut it: only time will tell.

Biden reduced the US on the world stage so much it will take decades to regain its once held position. Personally I doubt that the US will ever regain that status. Its people have lost their way. Doubt me? They elected Bush and Clinton and Obama and Biden and Trump.

The USA has not been respected around the world since prior to WWI when the USA declared itself an Isolationist Nation while under a Republican government.

The reason the USA has never been respected around the world as a Nation is because the USA won't actually do anything from a global perspective unless there is clearly something in it for the USA.

If the USA sees nothing in it for America, they won't participate, regardless of what is happening on the other side of the world.

The rampant spread of Hitler's Nazi Regime is a prime example of America's Isolationist mentality during WWII.

It wasn't until Sir Winston Churchill of Great Britain brought to the attention of the President of the USA at the time, that Hitler had been positioning German submarines inside New York Harbor and 3 miles off the coast of the eastern seaboard and had sunk over 680 US vessels leaving NY Harbor, including US Navy ships.

Up to that point, US Intel were unaware of Hitler's covert actions on the USA because the USA was hiding under their blanket of Isolationism which almost cost them their own country.

The USA will forever be indebted to Sir Winston Churchill for tipping-off the US government and for saving the USA from Hitler's Nazi Regime.

I think a lot of countries are going to lose whatever respect they had for America when they had competent leadership, and will soon come to fear and then despise them.
