Wrangel Island is about as close to the Russian coastline as Cuba is to Florida.

Would be a nice spot to place, oh a hundred or so, ballistica and cruise missles.

The USRC Corwin under the command of Calvin L. Hooper claimed the island for the United States and named it "New Columbia" on August 12, 1881.
