It seems like I’ve read some articles about why it makes sense for the working class to support Trump

And the only thing that really stuck with me is that the Left are a bunch of insufferable knowitalls. Did I miss anything?

The working class doesn't all support Trump. A section of them do. Similar to Brexit in the UK.

Though this is a thing and a bad thing for the left.

The right (and this happens internationally) has been successful at re-framing class in cultural terms: as opposed to economic terms.

I see class in economic terms and will fight on that ground all day long but this guy is on to something in terms of perceptions:

Right, left, working class: these are concepts. Where do you fit in? And how would you describe yourself without using right, left, and working class?

@sree251 I'm on the left. I am kind of from a working-class background (crossed with lower-middle). I am considered culturally middle-class because of my education. Neither proud nor ashamed of any of the above.

I am also fascinated by what other people think and why. Including people who are not like me.

@Burnley123 I watched the video. It just reinforces my perception that there’s no way for a middle class left winger like me to win. No matter what the working class is going to think you hate them and look down on them.

Why aren't you ashamed? Look at JD Vance. He is redneck stock. He can't be anything but redneck regardless of his education and political aspirations. It's the same deal with Kamala. One is either born great or one is not. On the other hand, Jesus was born great even though he was a carpenter's son. Like me, you are 45 and hanging out here with lowlives. I am ashamed, and so should you.

So, are you fascinated with what I think?

@Burnley123 It seems like a pretty large section of the working class that votes with the right.
Unionised workers generally don’t.
60% of the Teamsters rank and file now support Trump, that’s why they didn’t endorse Harris.
Non-white workers don’t.
Trump’s popularity is growing even with blacks and Hispanics.

I live in Jefferson City, Missouri, the state capital, population about 45,000. We’ve got some Democratic neighborhoods, but it’s still Trump Country. We haven’t elected a Democrat to a citywide office or the state legislature in at least twenty years. It’s to the point that Trump supporters generally feel safe that they can talk politics say at work and not offend anyone.

I read an article recently by Douglass MacKinnon predicting a Trump landslide because some polling firm went to a number of restaurants in Nevada and at each restaurant could never find more than one Harris supporter but found plenty of people who were enthusiastic about voting for Trump.

Idk I guess I probably just worry about politics too much because I’m bored with life and need something to get worked up about.

If Trump wasn't bored with life he wouldn't be running for President. There is nothing more exciting than stopping WW3.
