This post won't age well. Trump may not even make it as far as the election.

@LeopoldBloom let's see if he does the debate.
SamInAZ · 41-45, M
@LeopoldBloom you keep believing that. It doesn't matter if he's in jail...he can still be voted in.

@Tastyfrzz
Debate? When has he ever given a straight answer to anyone about anything?
specman · 51-55, MVIP
@LeopoldBloom why not?
@SamInAZ I'm aware of that. I'm sure Trump fluffers like you would vote for him even if he was dead. But some of his supporters won't want to vote for him if he's in jail and he can't afford to lose any.
@specman His mental and physical health are obviously deteriorating, and he's under a lot of stress.

@specman Regardless of which one of them is elected, it will be like Reagan, where he was surrounded by people who took care of everything while he descended into Alzheimer's. The difference is that the people around Reagan were competent, while the people around Trump will be those Project 2025 fascists.

Biden is doing fine even if the right-wing media is misrepresenting him, like that fake clip on Fox News where they made it look like he was trying to sit down where there wasn't a chair. If you look at the entire clip, there's nothing unusual about it.

@LeopoldBloom I think people don’t like his decisions that affect them.

What things ?
Cost of everything going up up and away ?
Higher taxes & fees ?
Higher Tolls ?
Crumbling infrastructure ?
Less work (jobs creation doesn't include jobs shut down by covid coming back) ?
Business failing & closing ?
Letting in undocumented workers ?
Giving money away & increasing our national debt ?
Continually raising debt ceiling instead of spending less ?
Leaving billions when he pulled out of afganistan ?
Leaving taliban in charge of Afghanistan ?
Paying off college debt for those who don't deserve help ?

Shall i continue ?

@pdockal trump did all of those things except the college debt relief. And if you look at the way it was done they have had to have been paying it back but Biden Administration’s Student Loan Debt Relief Plan

President Biden, Vice President Harris, and the U.S. Department of Education have announced a three-part plan to help working and middle-class federal student loan borrowers transition back to regular payment as pandemic-related support expires. This plan includes loan forgiveness of up to $20,000.

The Biden Administration’s Student Loan Debt Relief Plan
Part 1. Final extension of the student loan repayment pause
Due to the economic challenges created by the pandemic, the Biden-Harris Administration has extended the student loan repayment pause a number of times. Because of this, no one with a federally held loan has had to pay a single dollar in loan payments since President Biden took office.

The Biden-Harris Administration’s one-time student debt relief plan is necessary to address the financial harms of the pandemic, provide borrowers with a smooth transition back to repayment, and help borrowers at highest risk of delinquency or default once payments resume.

Congress recently passed a law preventing further extensions of the payment pause. Student loan interest will resume starting on Sept. 1, 2023, and payments will be due starting in October. We will notify borrowers well before payments restart.

Prepare for Student Loan Payments To Restart
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to do anything to extend my student loan pause?

No. The extended pause will occur automatically.

Part 2. Providing targeted debt relief to low- and middle-income families
To smooth the transition back to repayment and help borrowers at highest risk of delinquencies or default once payments resume, the U.S. Department of Education will provide up to $20,000 in debt relief to Pell Grant recipients with loans held by the Department of Education and up to $10,000 in debt relief to non-Pell Grant recipients. Borrowers are eligible for this relief if their individual income is less than $125,000 or $250,000 for households. Get details about one-time student loan debt relief.

In addition, borrowers who are employed by nonprofits, the military, or federal, state, Tribal, or local government may be eligible to have all of their student loans forgiven through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program

@Tastyfrzz

In 2020 gas prices were what $ 2ish
So how did Trump increase gas prices ?
I could go thru ALL the cost of ALL the good that have increased some over 100% but that would be a monumental waste of time

My niece paid her debt without any help
My nephews also did the same
They are all between 22 & 25

We don't need college debt relief no matter how you spin in
You borrow you pay it back
Nobody forced them to take the loans
Nobody forced them to pick a subject where they can't get a job to pay the loans back
If they can afford $$$$ cell phones etc they can pay the debt back

@pdockal With regard to gas prices this was before OPEC cut production 6% in 2022 and the embargo on Russian oil and gas. Without the quick action by the Biden administration gas prices in the US would be much higher and Europe would be at a complete standstill. No way would Trump's administration have reacted as wisely.

@pdockal The spike in inflation in the United States, particularly noticeable in the years following the COVID-19 pandemic, was caused by a combination of several factors:

1. **Supply Chain Disruptions**: The pandemic caused significant disruptions in global supply chains. Factory shutdowns, transportation issues, and labor shortages all contributed to delays and shortages of goods, which drove up prices.

2. **Pent-Up Demand**: During the height of the pandemic, many people reduced their spending due to lockdowns and economic uncertainty. As restrictions eased and confidence returned, there was a surge in demand for goods and services, putting upward pressure on prices. There was also a higher demand at home. Remember the toilet paper shortages when demand outstripped supply? Frozen food shelves were emptied overnight as people could not eat out. The lack of basic medical supplies like gloves and masjs? That was during Trump because he did not follow the suggestions of the Obama Administration’s pandemic preparedness plan. Then the Trump damily tried to capitalize on the Covid testing!

3. **Government Stimulus**: The U.S. government implemented several rounds of fiscal stimulus, including direct payments to individuals, enhanced unemployment benefits, and support for businesses. This increased the amount of money in circulation and boosted consumer spending.

4. **Labor Market Dynamics**: Labor shortages in various sectors, partly due to health concerns, early retirements, and changes in worker preferences, led to higher wages. Businesses often passed these increased labor costs onto consumers in the form of higher prices.

5. **Energy Prices**: Fluctuations in oil and gas prices also contributed to inflation. Energy costs impact the prices of goods and services broadly, given their role in production and transportation.

6. **Monetary Policy**: The Federal Reserve's policies, including maintaining low interest rates and continuing asset purchases, increased liquidity in the economy. While intended to support economic recovery, these measures also contributed to inflationary pressures.

These factors combined to create a situation where demand outstripped supply in many areas, leading to higher prices across a range of goods and services. It's important to note that inflation can be influenced by a complex interplay of domestic and global factors, and the situation can evolve over time.
