Be careful what you wish for, you just may get it.

Maybe Trump should never have won the presidency. Do you think he'd be facing 4 trials for a slew of alleged crimes if he stayed in the private sector?

@bijouxbroussard Obviously I write from a British perspective and view America far different to you.
@sunriselover That’s what I figured. The OP’s discussing Trump, and perhaps you’re unaware of Trump’s history. He’s trying to become our President again. Whatever Prince Harry has done in the UK, he’s mostly a curiosity here, and is not running for public office, which makes things vastly different.
@bijouxbroussard Yet his American wife is meeting the director general of the World Trade Organisation today. Who does she represent? Certainly not the UK.
@sunriselover She’s not running for public office, either. What does any of this have to do with the U.S. presidency and private lives ? Are your royals allowed private lives ? Are your Prime Ministers ?
@bijouxbroussard Is she royal then?
@sunriselover By marriage…doesn’t she have a title ?
@bijouxbroussard I was under the impression that the previous Queen had forbidden her using it in any official capacity.
@sunriselover I wouldn’t know. What is your point ? If it’s still
His private life is up to him.
To address the OP’s original question, as someone seeking the U.S. presidency and facing several criminal charges, Trump effectively has no private life because of the way our system now works and the media interest.
@bijouxbroussard I believe the couple are still Duke & Duchess of Sussex. Maybe that's a "your Grace" instead of "your Highness," but it's still a pretty good title; a cut above your Lordship/Ladyship.
@ElwoodBlues I knew I hadn’t imagined she had a title.
@bijouxbroussard Again from a British point of view, we have had brilliant leaders with unconventional private lives. Can America not be the same.

@sunriselover Can and are. But they’re unlikely to remain secret. And if they include things like sexual assault or bribery—that’s illegal here.
@RenFur A pint of urine probably.

@sunriselover

Now it's a point of urine... I'll delete my comment seeing as it no longer makes sense.
@bijouxbroussard Lloyd George lived with his mistress in London and his wife in Wales.

McMillan affectively was a bachelor, whilst his wife lived with Lord Boothby.
@sunriselover These are illegal in the UK ? They’re not, here.
@bijouxbroussard In the UK peoples morals are their own affair, it dies not interfere with their work.
@sunriselover So, things like sexual assault are fine ?
Is that what you’re telling me ?
Because otherwise, you’re not understanding the situation here.
@bijouxbroussard And Mr trump has been found guilty of this. In England you are innocent till proved guilty.

I forgot what Miss Daniels did for a living. Was she a nun?

@sunriselover

He has indeed been found guilty of sexual abuse and defamation versus E. Jean Carroll.
@sunriselover See, this is what I mean—you don’t have all the facts. Trump has been facing all kinds of charges. He paid off Stormy Daniels to deny an affair, and then lied about it, but he actually assaulted someone else. A total of 19 women have claimed assault but for many the statute of limitations has probably expired. He’s even bragged about assaulting women, so this is much more than his private life.
@sunriselover wonders
and Mr trump has been found guilty of this.
Yes he has, in losing his lawsuit vs E. Jean Carroll he was found liable for sexual assault as well as defamation of Ms Carroll. The judge also let it be known that Trump's assault of Ms Carroll, digital penetration, would meet the definition of rape in most jurisdictions, but not in that jurisdiction at the time of the assault. So it's hardly an exaggeration to refer to Trump as a rapist.
@ElwoodBlues Well you will soon have election, to make a judgement on him. I gather he was elected once.

But we have a guy that was not elected by anyone, who refuses to call an election. I think you have the better deal.Some years ago we were allowed to vote, and elected a government under a Mr Johnson. Goodness knows who this guy is.
@sunriselover Yes, Trump was elected once. He was not re-elected in 2020 because of the efforts of many once they saw what a liability he was (is). He’s been a very divisive factor like little our country has seen in modern times. Before him, someone in this much legal trouble would not even be eligible to run, so many people are seeing the system as corrupted, which doesn’t bode well.

Was Johnson removed or did he resign ? I remember he was your PM—and then he wasn’t. 🤔
@bijouxbroussard Difficult to say with Johnson, he was very popular. When he resigned a Ms Truss was elected by her Conservative membership. Mr Sunak was not.
