I don't know WHY Florida banned so many math books, but they did.
Florida passed a law in 2022 that said educators could be prosecuted for 3rd degree felony if they display any unapproved books.
And nobody knew what had been approved.
So the only safe way for educators to stay out of jail is to HIDE ALL THE BOOKS!!!
Oh wait! sorry, only the left does that.

didn't allow kids to read them. You can still get them if you want. I'm sure Amazon
and Barnes & Noble has them, since they have not been "Banned"
I remember watching a video of a parent at a school board meeting, reading from
one of those books, the board told her to "Stop it" it was too graphic and
inappropriate for adults at a board meeting. But you lefties want kids to read it.
Do you also download porn for your children?

@DogMan Nope. This kind of high volume banning was the result of a Florida school policy that said only books that were OK'd by the district were allowed on school library shelves. It was aided by Ron DeSantis' HB 1467, which effectively gave any single complainer the power to ban a book from a school or a district. Because the policy arrived suddenly, there were very few books on the OK list, and so everything else was off limits; hence banned.
Florida went from freedom of expression to freedom of suppression.
