Look, it's nice sentiment. But the issue with so many American liberals, or Western liberals in general, is that so many are convinced that the system works or can still work.
My friends, it doesn't. And just because it may work some times, doesn't mean it will work in the future and beyond.
Think of a failing engine. You can delude yourself into thinking it works saying "Well, it had it's issues in the past, but it seems to be doing fine now! I trust it will take me to my destination in time, and in the future. "
But if you ignore the sputtering, what do you think is going to happen sooner or later?
Reality will always assert itself. Hard.
And then what will you do?
