Every living President is a descendant of slaveholders … except Donald Trump

Northwest · M
Trump’s grandfather, at the very end of the 19th century, learned another form of slavery: whorehouses, in Seattle at the beginning of the Klondike gold rush, and enslaved women in whorehouses, in Vancouver and the Klondike, during the early part of the 20th century.

He advertised his whorehouse as the “best and finest” hotels.

Not sure how you connect Obama to slave owners, but the other living ex/current presidents are a minimum of 6 or 7 generations separated from their loosely connected, slave owning ancestors. Trump is only 2 generations separated.

Incidentally, Trump said he did not know anyone who died from the flu. His human trader grandfather did.

But more importantly, why do you keep getting different alt accounts?

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there ever only one living President at a time!?

Surely any others are ex Presidents?
lumberjackslam · 41-45, M
@AntisocialTroll no presidents retain their title
@AntisocialTroll American presidents are called "President so and so" for life, with a capital "p".

Bush, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. * Governors of 11 of the 50 U.S. states in 2022 weredescendants of slaveholders, as were two U.S. Supreme Courtjustices. * The Congressional slaveholding ancestors were among therichest in America before the Civil War; three-quarters were among the richest 10%. *
Which tells us two things:

1. Trump is the descendent of recent immigrants (so why is he so anti-immigrant?); and,
2. Slave ownership was more the norm than unusual in pre-Civil War times, and not just in the South.

Take my ancestors. My great-great-grandmother was born to a Primitive Baptist "Messenger", and they were strong abolitionists who had to move out of Virginia and into the Ohio River Valley because he couldn't minister in Virginia despite their Freedom of Religion statute written by Thomas Jefferson. Yet during the Revolutionary War she lived on her maternal grandparents' plantation under the care of a slave mammy while her mother took supplies to her husband and the other troops wintering at Valley Forge. So am I the descendent of slaveholders or abolitionists? (My great grandfather also fought for the Union and was a POW in Richmond, if you need to weigh the scales a little a more.)

Personally, since I also have immigrant grandparents on both sides of the family, and a stream of immigrants that married into the family before that, I prefer to thing of myself as a blending of immigrants who did what they needed to do at the time to survive and build a better life for ther descendents.

@dancingtongue not amti immigrant, hes anti illegal immigrant.
@dancingtongue don't pretend slave holders were ever the "norm", as they always were a well hated minority of people.
An elite privileged but brutal class of men holds power over the USA, it's no democracy. It's an authoritarian country. Even the Dems don't let Americans choose their president. Take Biden, take Hillary or take Trump.
what an interesting fact! Trumps people ( the family name was Drumph ) were not in the us during slavery, only afterward.
i think if we did? we will find so MANY Americans descended from slavers.
Myself included.,
do you have ancestors that were here before 1865?
i would also remind that slavery was not restricted to the us, most of Europe practiced it in one form or the other for many centuries
we are all descended of slaves, we are all descended from slavers.
@Jokersswild
Let's deal in facts, not If or buts
I am
European slavery is well documented
where did your people come from?
Jokersswild · 18-21
@SatyrService Spain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia. Im jewish and Arab
@Jokersswild well there ya go, a list of places deeply involved in the slave trade.
but here you are, transcending this.
Trump’s the son of a Klansman, which is a lot closer to how he thinks.
And Obama is the descendant of a black slave—on his mother’s side.
How many in the picture are alive ánd president still?
@Thewhazzupdude Bush senior, the tallest and on the left is gone. Carter, the shortest and on the far right is in hospice. Clinton, next to Carter, is kinda zombie like, now.
Obama seems to have aged normally, he's still around, second from the left.
Same for Dubya, the little guy in the middle.
@Roundandroundwego The troll who posted this said every living president...none of them is still president
@Thewhazzupdude in the USA we call them all President so and so, with a capital P, for life.
That's a photo of five living Presidents.
msros · F
He is a descendant of share-holders.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
so that's why he was the best president ever, it all makes sense now
Trump might brag about this, since he takes credit for things other people did.
Jokersswild · 18-21
@BohemianBoo His ancestors didnt own slaves. Did yours?
@Jokersswild But that has nothing to do with him. So he'd be taking credit for his ancestry. Same way he brags about being rich when really he was born into wealth.
That is because trump’s ass* belonged to Stormy!
