Trump could face espionage charges

This references a Washington Post article where sources claim that Trump's staff moved documents to different locations in Mar-a-Lago after Trump's attorney said all of them had been returned. Sources also allege that Trump showed these documents to people not authorized to see them.

I wonder if Saudi Arabia's decision to hold the LIV golf tournament at Trump properties was in return for him providing them information on Iran's nuclear program. We should know in a month as the fact-finding phase of Jack Smith's investigation has concluded, and the indictment should be issued sometime in June.

Anything on the federal level he'll be pardoned for. Anything civil he'll grift his way out. But Geogia...that's the money shot.
@Tastyfrzz Who will pardon him? Biden?

What Republican president? You think DeSantis will pardon him? Assuming he's even the nominee, let alone elected. Ol' pudding-fingers is in way over his head, and on top of that, has about as much charisma as a moldy sock. His shtick works in Florida but won't scale up to the national level.

@LeopoldBloom we can only hope. Like i keep saying. Half the people hou mert have less than average intelligence and for some reason flat earthers, pathological liars, and con artists are getting elected into high government positions. I dont have a lot of confidence in our country.

@Tastyfrzz If he wins the next election, can't he pardon himself?

Yes. The elements for an espionage charge are there. And in the picture splashed globally of documents at MaraLago are a number which appear to be photocopies. Something itself expressly forbidden under the act.. The only way Trump walks from this one (assuming they actually charge him) is if the US offers Trump as a prisoner exchange to Putin.😷
@Pitchblue I believe it's the firing squad. But so far the possible charge is espionage, not treason. The definition of treason includes working with the enemy, not allies. Jonathan Pollard wasn't executed for providing documents to Israel since they're an ally.

@LeopoldBloom I agree the charge is evident. But until the judge hands down a verdict I wont be counting chickens.. I mean with Covid you coule make a legitimate charge of mass manslaughter. But it aint never going to happen. No politician wants the precedent that would set..😷
@whowasthatmaskedman Holding Trump liable for his response to COVID would be difficult. Generally, politicians can't be sued for doing a bad job as the remedy for that is being voted out of office.

Jack Smith has been building a thorough case and the scope of his investigation will be stunning when it’s revealed. Trump’s legal team is awash with internal conflicts and infighting and woefully unprepared.

After indictment (which is all but certain) it will be at least a year until a trial. Trump will stall, fire several teams of lawyers, and grift, grift, grift. But the more he rages against Smith, the deeper he digs his own grave.

Time for the GOP to dump Trump and all the “Trump-lites” and return to traditional conservative values.

@KunsanVeteran I absolutely agree. Jack Smith is so exposed on this that he wont put in a quotation mark he cant prove.Legally Trump is toasted crispy.. Now, about the politics.........😷
I also saw an explanation of the documents on the floor. Remember Trump was pissed. I didn't leave no documents on the floor. Top Secret documents have a wide red border but these top secret documents had red inside a white border because they had been copied.
@LeopoldBloom The Saudi's didnt give 2 billion to Jared for nothing.
@Pitchblue I thought it was because he and Prince Bone Saw are such good friends.
@LeopoldBloom Not even Deutsche Bank would lend to Jared at that point. What about a 99 year lease on Jared's dilapidated building 666 5th ave? Paid up front. When no bank in the world would lend to him. Nothing suspicious about that. ** Biden's Laptop**

They won’t release information about the most sensitive documents and nuclear program facts are about as sensitive as it gets. That’s why there’s a very realistic fear that Trump will resort to gray mail tactics as a “defense”
@KunsanVeteran One way the judge can delay the trial is to allow the defense attorneys to apply for top secret clearance so they can examine the documents themselves. That could drag it out for months.
Disgustedman · 61-69, M
Allege this allege that, stir the pot, pour into the vat. Claim false which no one knows, tell a tale that really blows.
@Disgustedman So your theory is that the DOJ is just making all of this up and Trump never had any documents? So you can also drop the crap about Hunter's laptop. Have you personally examined it? Maybe Gym Jordan is lying and there's nothing on it but dick pics.

@MarmeeMarch I know! I'm happy too. You people won't be able to justify this with "oh, that happened decades ago, why are you persecuting the poor man."
