@Punches I think you are onto something in terms of how going "all in" on lies on top of lies backs you into a corner you simply cannot get out of in a face-saving way.

For people who chose to buy the Trump glasses...taking them off is hard.

I think dealing with the cognitive dissonance might well be akin to PTSD.

That's just spit-balling, but to keep believing the newest "Plan B" every time some big thing doesn't happen...
