We always ask how people could see dictators rise to power and do nothing about it

Well, here it is. There was a time early on, when Trump first burst onto the scene that some people were willing to overlook some of his antics, as he was speaking about real issues and giving people who had lost their voice a say. Unfortunately, he was also championing racism, and so many other despicable things.

Many saw through his act and saw him for what he really was at the start- a conman. Some, like me, were willing to give him a chance (an awful, awful, mistake).

But as soon as he got in office he just kept taking layer and layer off. I think Jan 6 really finally slapped some people back into reality.

Unfortunately, it didn't do that for everyone. And now, some of his early supporters have somehow been sucked into the cult of personality he managed to create, and we have this.

Trump is America's Hitler.

I saw through him even in the 80s. He is a con man through and through.
@DearAmbellina2113 Yes, and he comes by it "honestly", as it were. The earliest news story I remember reading about him was when he and his father Fred were being sued for redlining and refusing to rent or even sell to black tenants or buyers. The person reporting at the time mentioned the Trump’s penchant for stalling proceedings until those filing suit ran out of money, then offering a meager settlement, with a firm NDA.
No question about it. When Trump first ran on a platform of "us vs. them" it should’ve been a huge red flag to people.

Then put him in a bunker and give him a gun.
@SW-User I could never see Trump taking that way out. He has way too much ego. 🙁
