Is Trump's election chances at 2024 about as over estimated as Russia's military ground game at the start of 2022?

I think he's lost huge swathes of the moderates, the remaining supporters are louder but smaller than before

I don't even think that he will get the Republican nomination to run. Cheers!
Sounds about right.
@dale74 It's hard to see DeSantis getting much support from Trump's base. DeSantis went to elite schools, served honorably, and then became a professional politician. He's got zero business experience, owns no real estate, and lives in public housing (governor's mansion).

I can't imagine a guy who lives entirely off the taxpayer's dollar for at least the past ten years taking over Trump's "successful businessman" mantle.

What brings you to this conclusion

@dale74 You're assuming that just because I think Trump was a terrible president, I support Biden? How about DeSantis, Ron/Rand Paul, Liz Cheney or any of the other Democrat politicians?

@plungesponge they are not the supposed runners liz Cheney is a joke I have always loved Rand Paul DeSantis has said he will not run against Trump.

@dale74 That's because they know the base is now so small that splitting the base guarantees a loss. What I'm saying is that it's a loss either way. The Republicans would have a better bet putting forward a different candidate that brings back the moderates
