Is Alina Habba Trump's Roy Cohn?

She's advocating for her client for sure, and while I hope she's not successful, I admire her efforts and hope she gets paid, or at least gets in line with all his other creditors.

The only way she will see a cent is if it is someone else's money through a PAC or RNC. Trump stiffs everyone who works for him.
@windinhishair Cippolone, having taken the White House Counsel gig, may not have many more options, depending of course, what happens in 2024.

Dershowitz, I think, is pretty much a free agent, and has always seemed pretty careful about descending too far in Trump world, going back to academia, or even taking cases that won't turn into lucrative book deals. I expect he's approachable.

And yeah, I agree, any lawyers that want to gamble on representing Trump should be free to, and he should be able to hire them, but damn, if there's not a more treacherous client out there, I can' think of one. He's more likely to be a last client than anyone else I can think of.

@MistyCee Anyone that takes on Trump as a client proves P. T. Barnum correct that there is a sucker born every minute.
@windinhishair And yet, my guess is, it probably paid off for Dershowitz, who's biggest seller has probably yet to be written.

Seems like a risk/reward thing at this point, and the actual fees probably aren't as big of a thing as the possibility of losing her license or cashing in on a book or movie down the road.
No. Roy Cohn already WAS Trump's Roy Cohn, insofar as he was Trump's mentor, etc.

The Jewish lawyer (sorry) for McCarthy's Communist hunts, who said he loved destroying people. Such a horrible man and an example of MISuse of the law / legal process. Disbarred, died of AIDs.
@SomeMichGuy And Trump's been whining he can't find a lawyer as unethical or unprincipled ever since he left Cohn to die alone when he found out it was aids.
@MistyCee A true b*st*rd, the Trump fellow.

But to look up to Roy Cohn shows you his level.

This is not her, it's all Trump. Recall when the White House had information leaks, and he went nuts trying to recruit every federal agency, to try to figure out who was leaking information?

The identity of the informant has no bearing on the case.
@Northwest He's the client, though, and she's representing him, imo, in this instance, pretty well. She acknowledged the witness protection/witness intimidation thing, and still made her case.

I wouldn't be surprised if she takes shit from Trump for even saying that, but it seems like its in his best interest.
