Even Jesus went to hell. But hell is temporary, like death and the sea. Everyone gets out on Judgment Day and will be judged by their works. If you don't make the cut you get tossed into the lake of fire, along with death and hell.
You can be very evil and still get eternal life if you did what God wanted you to do, such as kill believers for their faith so that Jesus will get off his butt and reappear so that he can rule the world with an iron rod, torture humanity, kill all life, and destroy the planet. But, although you may have eternal life, you would still be denied entry to the giant golden cube called New Jerusalem, which is for Jews only since each of the twelve gates is dedicated to the twelve tribes of Israel. There is no gate for Gentiles. Enjoy your eternal life outside of the golden cube.

@Diotrephes Those people who chose to go to hell after they died are still going into the lake of fire, their choice is sealed for all eternity. Their judgment is set and cannot be changed. Even if Jesus offered them one last chance to repent they would not want to live with Him because their choices dictated before the soul departs from the body is forever either with God or against Him and they already chose hence their sentence. Anyone who wants to be saved must believe in Jesus, and accept His Mercy before they die, if circumstances are otherwise youll probably be a lucky individual and be saved through the prayers and sacrifices of others, that is also another Mercy.
