Indian official drains thousands of litres of water from dam to find lost phone

An Indian government official has been suspended after ordering an entire reservoir to be drained to recover a mobile phone he had dropped.
Mr Vishwas was taking a selfie when his smartphone fell into the water.
He called local divers to try to retrieve it.
When they failed, he arranged for two powerful pumps to be run for three days to empty out 2 million litres of water, enough to irrigate 600 hectares of farmland.
He only stopped when an official from the irrigation and water resource department visited the site after a complaint.
One would think he will lose his position after this debacle

But did he get his phone back?
We need to know 😀

@Gusman watch someone else find it! Justice served! 😆

@DeWayfarer Under water for too long, still under water.
Someone should claim to have found it and put the shits up him. 😄

@Gusman you would be surprised want they can recover years later. Some would go through the expense to do a deep search. They can recover things even deleted and written over a few times.

DOD wipe is seven times overwritten because of that. Two or three times just isn't enough.

@DeWayfarer Apparently the phone was recovered. The Government should take possession?

@Gusman of course they should, yet will they? 🤷🏻‍♂️

He caused the government already a huge expense.

They should know why he caused that expense.
