Have you ever tried to learn computer programing?????? [I Want to Be Happy And Make Others Be Happy]

I gave it a shot a few months ago.
It's so hard.
The reason it is hard is because you have to learn a bunch of stuff that won't be usful til later on.
UGGGG!!!!
I need to use it as I learn.

I don't understand the reasoning here. Usually when learning something it won't be useful until later.

@Mordi Well. When you learn to read a ruler you can see it and how it works.
What if they explained the way it works but didn't give you a ruler to use the knowledge with until three months down the road????

Can you give me some examples? And what source are you using to learn? Sounds a bit off.

@Mordi I am trying to learn Python.
You have to learn all about libraries but don't get to implement them for three months worth of the hypothetical stuff.
I am having trouble remember specifics because it was so vague to me.

Oh, is it the "there are a dozen modules that actually do this already BUT we are going to make you do it yourself instead"?

It's useful learning to do things yourself first, before relying on other people's code. Or maybe you need to find a learning source that has better pacing for you.

@Mordi That's where I am at. I need a teacher that I relate better to.
I also tried to learn a graphics. That turned into a snake game that didn't really work well.
It's the part where it takes three months before you can use the stuff.
I need something where I can use it as I go and add to what I learned.
OK. I made a text based game using Def statements.
That made sense to me.
I also used the others like for and ifs.
It's been a while sense I did it but I did have a functioning game I could add to.
I was just getting into formatted strings.

The problem here probably is that you have to take like a thousand baby steps to build whatever complicated thing you want to do. And the only thing you need is patience.

Sorry for the lacklustre advice.

@Mordi No no. Very helpful.
I do have an issue with instant gratification. LOL

A lot of people say python is easy to learn. Which is kinda true. It's easy to learn and use. But I think the ease of it makes understanding programming concepts as a complete beginner harder. Also, I don't like the graphics modules on python.

But python is great. 🤷‍♂️
