Well, apart from different educational terminology (my equivalent was the two years of the Sixth Form in a state grammar school), I didn't have a favourite song, but enjoyed many pop and rock numbers in many styles.

Pop music was far, far more varied and inventive - not always necessarily "better" than any other musically - but I think the record companies, broadcasters and fans encouraged initiative and inventiveness; qualities largely lost now for commercial reasons. This was the era of the Liverpool Sound's derivatives, the Motown Sound, many solo artistes, the rise of Progressive Rock, the folk revival.... so plenty to choose from.
