When I visited my family recently…

I was playing a lot of 80s music, whereupon my sisters got into a discussion (not argument, you understand) about the song "Everybody Wants to Rule The World" by Tears For Fears.

My youngest sister (49) claimed it as a "Gen X anthem" because it was a popular song with the teenagers of the day.

My middle sister (62) maintained that since Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith are Baby Boomers, it must be a "Boomer anthem" for those of us on the tail end of that generation.

I found the discussion interesting but left them to it. Either way, I think it’s a great song.

Inadvertently - maybe? - you raise an interesting point: Does being born in any particular era automatically make you a full-fledged member of that era?
@SW-User That’s a good question, especially with our generation. The oldest Boomers turn 80 next year, the youngest ones turn 60 this year. That’s a sizable gap.
