Own nothing - be happy.... I've been living like this forever so what's new ? 8-)
WEF wants us all to own nothing (esp property) and be happy. That's been my moniker forever as my parents (and my mum after they divorced when I was 12) basically had nothing except the house she owned. Never had or did anything special - I earnt ever single thing I have by myself and continue to do that now.
I've not owned a property since I seperated from my first ex now over 10 years ago. There's no forseeable pathway to change that until I retire from my job sometime in the next 15 to 20 yrs. I don't have any investments and super (aka 401k) is not really 'savings' as such because it's compulsory to have it under federal law and everyone knows that money is not enough to live on after retirement in almost all cases with rising prices of everything.
I've never bought/owned a brand new vehicle (my newest ones are now 30 yrs old), or a brand new computer. I buy a phone outright and keep it at least 5 yrs (then still keep it as a backup).
I'm happy being 'working poor' since it makes me keep my goals realistic and well-grounded. I'm happy being single because it means I don't have to try and be something I'm not to make someone else aroused and interested.
What's your take on this kind of stuff?
