@WintaTheAngle I agree. Every empire does well at first, and expands. (and one can argue contributes to the development of the colonial population.) But in the end they all overextend and have to stend so much protecting and controlling the colonies thst the central hub loses focus and decays from within. We can argue this can be hurried along by outside forces. But it still holds true.
