Are you truly happy?

If so, what's the secret sauce lol.

I seem to be getting pepper sprayed everytime I'm close to happiness 😀
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
Things could be better for me health wise but I am truly grateful for what I have…so yeah. Life is a bit of a challenge at times.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@cherokeepatti It indeed is.

But you've made it this far. You'll make it further. Then again. What's life without a challenge
Musicman · 61-69, M
Truly happy? I don't know. I am definitely content. 🙂
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@Musicman I think it does matter.
elafina · 36-40, F
For me the secret is accepting its temporary nature, that things change, to not look after happiness. Enjoy it when there, take care of my wellbeing as much as possible, and take things as they come,
without creating excess worry out of a bad situation. I'm practicing:)
elafina · 36-40, F
@MoonlightLullaby it also doesn't bring acceptance but resistance to what is..
Trying to be positive is good, but from the root, on focusing on one's well being, nourishment and calming practices,
not when one is feeling other feelings.
We need to feel our feelings...
MoonlightLullaby · 41-45, F
@elafina We totally get each other! I have a post somewhere regarding this very subject, but more in depth.

So very true, they're there to teach and guide us in some capacity; negative or positive.💟
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@elafina This is pretty valid. To find happiness in the present.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
Yes I think I am. I have no money worries. I am finally finding my own way of life. Things could undoubtedly be better but my life seems to be heading in the right direction.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@ninalanyon At least you're there. I'm 33 and I've barely seen happiness. It's just constant struggle and I think I'll die someday not knowing how it's like to smile.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Beatbox34 I'm twice your age. Hang in there, it's worth it. You can make it. You might need to take a risk here and there.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@ninalanyon I genuinely hope so 🙂
SW-User
Yeah ..actually...it took a lot of soul searching and digging deep
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@SW-User I completely get it.

I'm just tired. I wake up feeling empty. There are people telling me to just love myself. I'm trying that. I'm living a life in solitude for the most part. I am happy with how I am. I don't need to fix myself for anyone. But it does suck when you try so hard to bring a smile to someone's face and they don't even care if you're alive.

But then again. I chose to ignore it. Keep my expectations low.
SW-User
@Beatbox34 You are lonely ..I get it. .volunteering can help ...if you are able to do that ...it feels good to help others in some way ..also pets ...they love unconditionally and can make great companions ...I'm sorry i hope this helps
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@SW-User It's all good. I've always been lonely. I'm not sad about it.

I'm just sad when the same cycle repeats again and I keep feeling this is all I deserve.

Don't worry. It's all cool. I ain't staying long enough to remember any of this 🙂
TexChik · F
Absolutely. I am not ashamed to say I am. I know I have been very fortunate.
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@TexChik That's very good to hear.
Jemimapuddleduck · 31-35, F
Quality of life, I think. Good health.
I think we can make things hard on ourselves by expecting too much. Life needs to be kept simple, enjoy the small things.
I’m okay. That’s sort of a win for me so…
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@DarkHeaven anything in the positive direction is a win.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
I don’t let negative thoughts stay in my head. I tell myself I’m not going to entertain them and I busy myself doing other things or meditate
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@Jenny1234 That is a very nice perspective.
Jenny1234 · 51-55, F
@Beatbox34 also you need to tell yourself every day you are worth and deserve everything you want in life. Do not ever put yourself down or allow that negative talk to rear its head
MoonlightLullaby · 41-45, F
Happiness is such a fleeting feeling so I think contentment is a more realistic state of mind.
JoyfulSilence · 46-50, M
Tabasco sauce.

Why get sprayed when you can get seasoned?
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@JoyfulSilence Lol that makes me spicy
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
Nah, happy has never really been my vibe unfortunately.
HannahSky · F
Sorry, I don't have that answer
Beatbox34 · 31-35, M
@HannahSky I am sorry 🤗
I’m cool atm. But truly happy? Nah, not there yet.
Busybee333 · 31-35, F
Buy some great sunglasses... find a reason to smile anyway, the braver, the happier! 🌞
Tracos · 51-55, M
