My take as someone with an Asian partner? Even for those who are removed from first generation immigrants, there's some elements in a lot of Asian cultures that are held on to that don't necessarily apply as readily in some countries. Like the U.S. Some are awesome. Others aren't.

@TempuraShrimp Some people might have a physical deformity or a medical condition that skews their appearance but even classical ugly people are attractive to some people. Maybe you just need to get a new circle of associates?
